Haha! Happy Chinese New Year to you too. I may not be able to celebrate it. I already agreed to go to a dinner then a party with my friends... but I may skip the dinner thing. ARGH! Cannae choose.

Under normal circumstances, I would go wild for them. No hesistation. However, my darling mum is off in Taiwan and before she left, she refused my offer to take us out for a dumpling feast (too busy). No dumplings until after the 17th Feb. Curses.
Eating dim sum in a restaurant alone has appealed to me, though its a bit strange having all those platters to yourself. Well, I was born in the Year of the Pig, but still... Pride over gluttony.
My younger brother and I made dumplings, but my mom went off for a meeting and it turns out my baby brother (I have two brothers) already ate. So it was mostly just me and my younger brother hanging out, and then getting money later. (Yay!) I really want to spend New Years in China one of these days. Just for the experience. Any particular place that appeals to you?
Sounds like you had a great time; making dumplings, getting money... As for your question, I'd love to spend New Year in Hong Kong. Its so vibrant and the atmosphere is rather energizing. Not only that, I love the contrast between jungle and city! A lot of variety in food and culture, too.
China is so immense, I wouldn't know where to choose for spending New Year. Beijing is fascinating with its history and architecture, but the smoggy haze and the fiery sensation it has on your nose is a bit much. I'd like to go somewhere rural, and celebrate country-side style.
